We're going to build a hospital... together!

Lisa Bates, who founded the Center in 1998, has long dreamed of building the first full-service wildlife hospital in Southern Arizona.

The need for a wildlife hospital is greater than it has ever been. With the growth of the Tucson area there is an ever-increasing number of human-wildlife conflicts. Added to this dilemma is the number of Southern Arizona rehabilitators who are retiring and other centers that are closing, further reducing the sources for injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife. Thankfully there are many concerned citizens that help us make a difference.

However, no matter how hard our community works together to help these animals and to resolve these conflicts it is very clear that the Tucson Wildlife Center needs to improve and expand its facilities and do it quickly. The current medical facility and animal enclosures are cramped and we are simply running out of room.

This year, we admitted more than 180 animals in the first six months and the animals are continuing to arrive in steadily increasing numbers. This does not count the animals we refer to other rehabilitators. Without the resource of these other rehabilitators our intake numbers are going to rise to the point that our facilities simply won't be able to handle them.

So, our goal is to build a wildlife hospital to fill this need in our community and to make sure that these animals are not left out in the cold.

We need your help to make this dream
become a reality!

All donations for the hospital go into a hospital fund
and are not used for the day to day running of the current
Tucson Wildlife Center's facilities.

We are asking for the support of our community.
Every little bit helps!
Even a small amount to our hospital fund makes a difference.
Please tell your friends, family and neighbors.

We are also looking for individuals or companies who will sponsor a wing,
(i.e. intensive care, surgery, treatment) medical equipment (i.e. x-ray, autoclave, anesthesia, etc.) or an endowment fund to guarantee help.

We would like to thank our community for their continued support.

Our first fundraising event for the hospital was a hit!

We would like to thank all of you who attended the hospital fundraising event or those who donated to the Hospital Fund. You have helped us raise almost one quarter of the funds that we need to build the building for the hospital.

We would also like to thank the companies and the volunteers that have donated their time or
pledged their services to the Hospital.
